We work very hard to give every animal a chance to live a long and healthy life by providing them with veterinary care, vaccines and more. Unfortunately, in 2023, we experienced our first ever outbreak of feline distemper and lost a high volume of kittens, thus the higher number of died in care and the need for euthanasia.
Breakdown of Origins 2009 - 2023
Like every shelter, we have pets that stay longer than what we would like them to. We calculate the average time on shelter (days in care) and this is how we get the average length of stay. Our pets stay until they are adopted or, until we can find a facility or rescue to transfer them out to a different venue.
